We trace our history to Liberty County Georgia and the Sand Hills Plantation ; Aug. 16, 1845 Pompey B. Hines was born into slavery Upon his death , July 5, 1919 our father ; Pompey B. Hines had acquired more than 450 acres of land . Pompey B. Hines left a rich legacy , the father of 17 children and today there are more than 600 living descendants of Pompey B. Hines . We are still searching for words that will express our gratitude; " For building the roads that we have traveled to success
